Seed to bottle — step by step.
Crafted with care, from seed to bottle.
We don't just sell hemp seed oil products. We cultivate the plant that powers them, and stay close to every stage of the process — from the first planting to the final formulation. Here's what that actually involves.
1. Plant & cultivate. Cannafox's hemp is grown in Byron Bay — nutrient-rich soil, full sun, a growing cycle managed from planting through to harvest.
2. Sustainably harvest. Clean seed is the whole game here. Before anything else happens, the seed is threshed and winnowed — separated from plant matter, by hand and by machine — so what goes into the press is seed, not stems and hulls carried along for the ride.
3. Extract & refine. Cold-pressed, not heat-extracted. An expeller screw press works the oil out of the seed mechanically, kept below roughly 48°C throughout — go hotter than that and the fatty acids and vitamin E that make the oil worth using start breaking down. It's slower and lower-yield than heat extraction. That's the trade we make on purpose.
4. Expert formulas. From there, the oil goes to formulation — thoughtfully developed in association with Ella Baché, bringing considered ingredients and real formulation expertise to every cream we make.
Why the process is the point.
Anyone can put “hemp seed oil” on a label. What’s harder to achieve is a batch you can trace through every one of these four steps.
Australian grown. Sustainably cultivated. Carefully produced. Traceable from seed to bottle. That provenance is the hallmark of every Cannafox product, just as much as what’s inside.
